Créée par Eric Rohmer et Barbet Schroeder associés à Pierre Cottrell, la société de production et de distribution LES FILMS DU LOSANGE a célébré au cours des derniers mois son soixantième anniversaire. Le premier film produit et distribué en salles fut en 1963 La Boulangère de Monceau, le premier des Six Contes moraux de Rohmer, dont le principal interprète était précisément Barbet Schroeder, alors âgé de 21 ans. Depuis lors, une multitude de cinéastes parmi les plus intéressant·es du cinéma européen ont été produit·es et / ou distribué·es par cette vénérable maison : Jacques Rivette, Volker Schlöndorff, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Jean-Luc Godard, Wim Wenders, Marguerite Duras, Jean Eustache, Andrzej Wajda, Jean-Claude Brisseau, Lars Von Trier, Michael Haneke, Olivier Assayas, Nicolas Philibert, Mia Hansen-Love, Alice Diop... entre autres.

FIN de Sad - A new series is coming!

*In some curious way I should dedicate the SAD series to my dead mother Marie Grace, and to her Grundig, a very large stereo tube radio in our 1960’s living room playing melancholic music by Mancini, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdink, Robert Goulet, and more ‘easy listening’ after midnight with the glowing green eye for perfect tuning. She would sew and make clothes of her design until 4am as I listened from my bed. Today I propose ‘boygenius’ , ‘DrØm’, ‘Damon Albarn’, ‘Katie Melua’, ‘Martin Del Carpio’ … to show that sadness can be the centre of a song in modern music.

Happy Xmas & Holiday Season . The blues can be a good inner translator.
